BENJII (Ben Bui | B. 2004 Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam) is a visual artist currently based in Toronto, Canada.
Working in an illustrative style of figurative art in the media of oil and graphite, he questions the notions of restraint and uncertainty through surrealist lenses that play on the subtle intricacies within memories and fiction. He has received numerous scholarships, awards and grants, including the Helen Eisen Scholarship from OCAD University in 2022 and most notably the recent Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in 2023. He is currently completing his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting at OCAD University.
